WNYCarClubs.com Meets RodandPiston.com
With just about 7 million page views and only about 5 years old WNYCarClubs.com has grown faster then we had ever anticipated. It has grown so fast in fact we decided about a year ago that we needed to start looking for a new domain name for it. With visitors from all over the country and even from across the sea visiting, we decided the “Western New York (WNY)” part or our domain was no longer a good fit.

Last August RodandPiston.com was started. The original plan was to run the two web sites in parallel; one would cater to our national/international audience and the other for our local WNY audience. This is what we’ve been doing for about the last half year. Unfortunately running two web sites (even similar ones) is twice as hard and takes twice as much time. Since we do these web sites “part time” we realized in order to do a web site and do it right we need to concentrate on just one. So we're sure you noticed the slow transformation and merging of WNYCarClubs.com into RodandPiston.com. Our first merging of the two was in the forums, and slowly we’ve been migrating sections over. As you can see our E-mail newsletter is the latest merge and from now on you'll be occasionally be receiving RodandPiston.com Tune-Ups, instead of WNYCarClubs.com Newsletters.

Is this the end of WNYCarClubs.com? Not by any means, just a different skin and far grander scale and plans for it. As RodandPiston.com grows we will not forget our Western NY base, and we hope all of you that got us started as WNYCarClubs.com continue to help us build RodandPiston.com.

6.) What the heck is a Widget?

http://widget.yahoo.com/info/
" The Yahoo! Widget Engine is a JavaScript runtime engine for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to. Widgets can be alarm clocks, calculators, can tell you your WiFi signal strength, will fetch the latest stock quotes for your preferred symbols, and even give your current local weather.

What sets Yahoo! Widget Engine apart from other scripting applications is that it takes full advantage of today's advanced graphics. This allows Widgets to blend fluidly into your desktop without the constraints of traditional window borders. Toss in some sliding and fading, and these little guys are right at home in Windows XP and Mac OS X..............................."
