The shutdown area is lower than the track and gets full of water quite easy. If the sun comes out early enough it can do wonders, but it didn't appear until late in the day. A little water in the shutdown wouldn't matter to some of you guys but to me with slicks and a spool it means heading into the woods.

Well i guess we know now what is important in the cruise night, no racing = shut it down. Could have still had a cruise night without the racing, a bit chilly but got real sunny. Roadhouse was a good cruise for those that made it.

Ahh John; No racing means a lot less money in Ralphs pocket!! Not bitchen, just stateing a fact. And Joelster is correct about the shut down area, it can get very dicey down there.

Cranky, I fully understand that concept, tonight just confirmed it was all about the racing and the money, just found that interesting. I know how business works and am not criticizing the decision, just bummed as was looking forward to it, especially since I can't make next week. The cruise could have gone off sans racing is all I'm saying. I actually :tiphat:  Ralph for not running drags anyway with an unsafe track. I've been down that track a few times and wouldn't want to be hitting a puddle trying to stop either. Safety is paramount.

So bummed I'm going to miss this, win or lose Joelster I'd run against ya just to enjoy going down the track. Beating the car next to you is fun, but I enjoy racing to beat my time on the clock just as much.

Stuck watching the kids tomorrow night though. :(

Just so you guys know...

I was looking around the dunn-tire website and they extended the shutdown length 200 feet, and made the entire shutdown area 20feet wider so that guys could pull over to re-pack their chutes and not get in the way. Probably why it takes so long to dry it up.
